    So I wonder what “gifts” Jacob gave our candidates when he touched each of them?

    And I thought Tania Raymonde (Alex) looked damn fine on the episode.

    ben just about broke my heart in this episode. “because he’s the only one that’ll have me” almost made me cry. and he still loves alex in the it-worked-world!

    mario, I agree. though I think she *always* looked damn fine.

    this episode pretty much convinced me that jacob and blackshirt are god and satan, plain and simple. lame.

    when richard said “I just found out my entire life had no purpose”…well, I understand why he felt like sitting down with a stick of dynamite.

    I believe this was the first time we got confirmation that he did indeed come to the island on the black rock, wasn’t it?

    Yeah, Adrian. What is up with the going to the island but coming back thing with Ben and daddy?

    So Ben was “saved” on the island and he was good off the island. I guess his story has ended now.

    Jack seems to have his shit more together now than ever. Hmm. He is going to be “the one,” isn’t he?

    I had two distracting babies in the room while watching, but the whole dynamite scene (and the black rock comment) led me to believe that he’d tried to kill himself with that dynamite once in the past (when he first came to the island)… not that he’d arrived on that boat. Anyone else take it that way?

    Ben & Daddy – weird, yeah, but wouldn’t the hatch-never-happened bomb mean that anything that happened prior to that DID still happen……. just no hatch, etc.? So Ben & pops would still have come prior?

    Emily – nope. Not with ya on that. I think it’s pretty clear now that he came on the Black Rock as a slave (with this episode and FLocke’s comment about the last time seeing him he was in chains).

    As far as the Ben & Daddy thing, a lot of stuff would be different in the past (even prior to the explosion) because there were no time travelling Losties to interact with stuff prior to 1977. Don’t think about it too much…time travel and alternate timelines will mess with your head.

    I liked how in the original timeline, Ben gassed his dad. In the new timeline, he gets his O2 for him.

    OOOHHHHHH – that makes sense. Totally missed the chains comment. Watching LOST with a toddler awake 2 weeks in a row = uffda!
