Well, I think Hurley was taking the guitar with him in honor of Charlie. And I’m betting Locke told each and every one of them that they had to be on that particular flight. You realize that Sayid being prisoner mirrors Kate being prisoner the first time around, along with Locke’s body mirroring Jack’s dad. I loved Jin being in that VW bus. It’s cool that they are becoming the Island’s history.

yeah, i’m sure he did. i can’t wait to see what else becomes of his visit to walt, and i want to know why he had to die under the name “jeremy bentham”. do you think that extra guy on the plane – the one who offered his condolences to jack – is important?

i guess my runway idea was wrong, oh well.

prediction 2: kate sleeps with jack hoping to get pregnant before they reach the island, so she can have a child without dying.

I do think the condolence dude is important. Possibly a new character along with the
“agent” escorting Sayid. That would make Kate kind of heartless in a way, but I totally see it happening, Ryan.

I felt it was a weak episode too. Quite bummed there wasn’t more to it. I wish I knew what happened to Aaron. How could jack never ask her again? Not even a ” is he ok?”. Crap

I actually loved it!!! It was all the buzz at Saint Basil Academy today.

    Man on plane = important.

Aw Jack’s grand-dad… and for any Sopranos fans out there– “It’s a retirement community!!!”

I like Lost. Bloody Ben bums me out. I don’t want him to have killed Penny. I didn’t really dig Jack too much in the first few seasons but I am really rooting for him now. He wants so much to do the right things…

  8. emily comments:

if he killed penny – i will never forgive him.

jack is starting to talk like locke… a lot.

return of the eye-close-up opener, yay!

also enjoyed the “lamppost” narnia connection–but where is that dharma installation? apparently it was built before they found the island–and apparently they knew about the island and were looking for it. how? I’m returning to my theory that the island was the bermuda triangle.

oh, and either eloise or ben (I forget) basically said that the island was moving the whole time they were on it. I assume it moves by jumps, not like…cruising around like a boat. so…when? shouldn’t there have been signs? the “failsafe” moment was the only possibility I can think of.

    flight 316: 15-8-4=3…stretching?

jack refers to the island as “somewhere better than here”. holy shit.

    was ben PRAYING?!

kelly–re: “my condolences” guy, yes. after that first appearance, I thought “uh-huh,

we’re gonna see him again.” ryan, I love your hypothesis.

hurley buying all the tickets, trying to save other people–that was so touching. and yes…yes, the guitar, in honor of charlie. I could cry.

“how can you read?!” – “my mother taught me.” LOLZ.

aaron is on the airplane. ben finally, flat-out stole him from kate (she may or may not know that) and he’s somewhere on the plane.

lapidus was my favorite surprise in this episode. and em, I knew “…we’re not goin’ to guam, are we” would be the title. ’cause…damn.

finally….watching their faces as the crash started to happen was kind of terrible. seeing the resignation, the finality. and it seemed to me that the other two (condolences and the cop) didn’t seem terribly surprised…

and then apparently it wasn’t a crash? bollocks.

Janet – there are a variety of reasons that I think Jack is Jacob.

Jack wasnt on Jacob’s list. – Why would you put yourself on the list if you know what you are going to do?

A good character arc would be Jack not believing in the craziness of the island, Jack leaves the Island and starts to believe (Locke’s note added to my theory), Jack returns to the island and believes even more, Jack travels back in time and becomes the leader of all the stuff he never believed in.

But more than anything else, it’s just a feeling I have. It would make good tv.
